45% Malvasia Bianca
5% Riesling
Saralee’s Vineyard
All varietals were crushed and destemmed and separately vinified. The Riesling saw brief skin contact and malolactic fermentation was inhibited. Aging took place in neuter oak, with batônnage performed every two weeks; bottle aging was protracted for a few additional months.
“The cool, bracing vintages brings out the best of these aromatic varieties. Jasmine, juicy pears, spices and sweet white peaches all meld together in this hugely delicious, attractive wine. Floral notes are woven throughout, giving the 2011 much of its appeal and lift.”
